Found in Sao Paulo state of Brazil near Santos, Surinam and Colombia at elevations around 1200 to 2700 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with pilose tubers giving rise to an erect, slender stem carrying 4 to 10, linear-lanceolate, acute, erect, dark bluish green leaves that blooms in the winter on a terminal, erect, 1.2 to 4.8" [3 to 12 cm] long, laxly few to many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute, half as long as the ovary floral bracts and carrying green flowers.
