" Somewhat similar to H secundiflora but has smaller flowers with the dorsal sepal .16 x .12" [4 x 3 mm] versus .3 x .22" [7.5 x 5.5 mm] a shorter spur .4 versus .68" [1 versus 1.7 cm] that is filiform versus narrowly cylindrical ad swollen in the apical third and ciliate margins of the sepals versus glabrous. Moreover the lip of H secundiflora is trilobed about [.08 to .1" [2 to 2.5 mm] above the base versus just above the base in H sastrei. The ciliate sepals are also observed in H ludibundiciliata however in that species the lip is lobed .02 to .04" [.5 to 1 mm] above the base, its lobes are subequal in length [the midlobe is .1 to .24" [2.5 to 6 mm], the lateral lobes are .12 to .28" [3 to 7 mm] and the spur is clavate."
