Common Name The Four Spotted Habenaria

Found in Chiapas state of Mexico and Guatemala at elevations around 800 meters as a medium sized, warm growing terrestrial with an oblong tuber giving rise to an erect, strict, glabrous, leafy stem carrying 7 to 8, erect, patent, oblong-lanceolate, acute to acuminate leaves grading above into bracts that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, strict, 5.2" [13 cm] long, lax, 15 to 20 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, longer than the flower floral bracts.
Closely related to H entomantha but distinct in the longer and more threadlike anterior segments of the petals, the equally threadlike lateral lobes that do not arise directly at the base of the labellum and the shorter, straight extending stigma processes. It is also recognizable by its slender, taller growth, more uniform foliage and the looser flower clusters." Schlechter 1918
