Found in Taiwan in bamboo stands at elevations around 500 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying 6 to 7 in a cluster at the middle of the stem, oblanceolate, smooth on the back with a keel-like midvein, undulate margins, acute leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on a terminal, erect, peduncle ridged, 6" [15 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence
This species may be a natural hybrid between the two speices H delessertiana and H polytricha
