Found in Brazil as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with thickened, villous roots giving rise to numerous, ovate, acute, rounded below into the canaliculate, slender, petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, terminal, peduncle erect, 4.4 to 5.4" [to 10" [25 cm] long, cm] long, provided with several sheathing bracts, rachis short, laxly few flowered inflorescence with ovate-cucullate, long-acuminate, to .6" [1.5 cm] long floral bracts and carrying quite thin flowers.
Often confused with Hapalorchis lineatus but separable by H lindleyana's larger floral segments and a different lip.
