Common Name Dolte's Laelia [Dolte Irene Zaffalon Rosim Brazilian mother of the Author]

Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil on rocky outcrops with nightly cloudcover, at elevations around 1100 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing, saxicolous lithophyte that is a natural hybrid between L ghillanyi and L neocardimii with obclavate, 3 internodes, tapering towards the apex pseudobulbs enveloped by strongly adpressed, evanescent sheaths and carrying a single, erect, elliptic, conduplicate, apiculate apically, fleshy-coriaceous, rigid leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, apical, arising through a well developed, linear, truncate spathe, to 8.4" [21 cm] long overall, peduncle 5.6" [14 cm] long, rachis 2.8" [7 cm] long, green, laterally compressed, simultaneously 3 to 4 flowered inflorescence with triangular, acute, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
