Common Name or Meaning The Baño de Agua Santa Lepanthes

Found in Tungurahua province of Ecuador in primary cloud forests at elevations around 2600 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with an erect, terete stem enveloped by 9, papery, trumpet-shaped sheaths with an ovate, dilated, spiculate ostia as well as spiculate along the costae and carrying a single, spreading, coriaceous, elliptical, acuminate, emarginate, apiculate, the margins flat to involute, entire, obtuse and abruptly contracted below into a shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on an 1 to 2, held on the underside of the leaf, peduncle terete [1.3 to 2 cm] long, enveloped by membraneous, ovate, acute, truncate bracts, rachis terete [.8 to 3.1 mm] long, congested, successively 1 to few, to 30 flowered inflorescence carrying resupinate flowers.
