Common Name or Meaning Calliope's Lepanthes [The Muse of epic Poetry, one of the 9 muses]

Found in southeastern Ecuador at elevations of 1650 to 1750 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect, elongate ramicauls enveloped by 8 to 12 lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, elliptical-ovate, subacute, basally contracted into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a 1.2" [3 cm] long, successively single, many flowered inflorescence arising behind the leaf.
