Found in Merida state of Venezuela in cloud forests at elevations around 2o00 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cool to cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 6 to 7, minutely ciliate-scabrous lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrrowly ovate, acute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on an erect, arising from behind the leaf, peduncle filiform, .2 to .32" [5 to 8 mm] long, rachis to .28" [7 mm] long, subdense, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with glabrous, as long as the pedicel floral bracts and carrying flowers with pale yellow-brown, suffused medially with purple sepals, yellow petals and an red purple, minutely pubescent lip.
"This species was identified as the Costa Rican L lindleyana in Venezuelan Orchids Illustrated and the Flora of Venezuela Foldats. Although similar, this species may be distinguished by the subdense inflorescence with smooth floral bracts and short pedicels appressed to the rachis, and a thick, triangular appendix. Keichenbach described the rachis of L lindleyana as "bene bipectinati" indicating that the raceme was congested with two dense rows of pedicels. his drawing also shows the floral bract to be echinate."
