Common Name Roldan's Malaxis [Colombian Orchid Enthusiast and original collector of the species current]

Found in Antioquia department of Colombia in forests at elevations around 2400 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with pseudobulbs carrying 2 leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on an erect, rachis 1" [2.5 cm] long, subumbellate, dense, many flowered inflorescence with triangular, acute, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carring very small flowers.

Similar to M crispifolia and M julianii but easily separated by the lip form, especially subulate, spread lip auricles and the lip blade braosly elliptic to elliptic subquadrate in outline." Szlatchetko & Kolanowska 2023
