Common Name The Without Masdevallia [refers to the lack of sepaline tails]

Found in Ecuador at elevations around 950 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with slender, erect, blackish ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, subacute, narrowly cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a slender, suberect, .8 to 1.4" [2 to 3.5 cm] long, congested, racemose, successively single, few flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract near the base and as long as the pedicel floral bracts.
