Common Name The Yauaperi' Octomeria [A river in Amazonas Brazil]

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found Venezuela, Guyana, northern Brazil and Peru in rain forests at elevations of 50 to 100 meters as a miniature sized, hot growing, erect to subpendulous epiphyte with an elongate stem and carrying a single, apical, shorter than the stem, subterete, acute leaf that merges below into the stem and blooms in the late summer and early fall on a fascile of successive, short, single flowered inflorescence.

Part of the SECTION Teritifoliae-Scirpoidae O scirpoidea Alliance with O scirpoidea and O yauaperyensis and is distinguished by the leaves that are always much shorter than the ramicauls.
