Found in Cochabamba department of Bolivia at elevations around 2500 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with caespitose, ovoid, laterally compressed, ancipitous pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 4 to 6, distichous, uppermost foliaceous sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, linear to indistinctly lanceolate, conduplicate, subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the later spring on an erect to arching, indistinctly flexuous, 8 to 8.8" [20 to 22 cm] long, 4 to 10 flowered inflorescencewith apressed, scale-like narrowly acute floral bracts and carrying stellate flowers.
