Found in Magdalena and Tolima departments of Colombia in forests at elevations around 1250 meters as a just large sized, cool growing terrestrial with 1 to 4, basal, in a rosette, almost cordate-ovate, acute, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late fall and winter on an erect, stout, peduncle 16.8 to 17.2" [42 to 43 cm] long, provided with 4 + on the lower part of the peduncle, imbricating, herbaceous, glabrous, acute sheathing bracts, rachis 8 to 8.4" [20 to 21 cm] long, lax to subdense, secund, 20+ flowered inflorescence with oblong-lanceolate, acute, pubescent at the base and along the edges, longer than the ovary floral bracts and bear comparatively large flowers with sepals that are densely glandular.
