Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil at elevations below 600 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing terrestrial with a basal rosette of a few, erect, narrowly broadly lanceolate, acute to shortly acuminate, long attenuate into the distinctly petiolate base leaves that is leafless at blooming occuring in the fall on an erect to subnutant, terminal, very slender, peduncle 4.6 to 5.2" [11.5 to 13 cm] long, provided with a few, glabrous below, densely short, glandular-pilose above, sheathing bracts, rachis .6 to .8" [1.5 to 2 cm] long, densely 3 to 4 flowered inflorescence with narrowly lanceolate, long acuminate, sparsely pilose, slightly shorter than the flowers floral bracts and carrying shortly pedicellate, medium sized flowers.

"This species is best compared to Pelexia orobanchoides but P parva has longer, less incurved flowers in a short, few flowered racemethe whole plant is less than a hand high. The sepal sac is rather large, incurved towards the tip and blunt. The labia is gradually widening from a narrow base, obovate-elliptic towarsd the front with a not sharply demarcated triangular, blunt anterior lobe." Schlechter 1920
