Common Name or Meaning Carreno's Pleurothallis [Costa Rican Orchid Enthusiast and Co-collector of species current]]

Found in Venezuela in cloud forests at elevations around 850 to 890 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by a close, tubular sheath below the middle and 2 shorter others at the base and carrying a single, apical, spreading, horizontal, coriaceous, ovate, acute, sessile below into the cordate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a reclining, arising through a suberect, conduplicate spathe, in a fascile of short, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with as long as the pedicel floral bracts.
Part of the Pleurothallis cardiostola/Pleurothallis lilijae complex. Distinguished by the much smaller plant and much smaller flowers.
