Found in Constanza province of the Dominican Republic at elevations of 900 to 1300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 thin, loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, erect, purple, coriaceous, minutely denticulate, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter, spring and summer on an erect, .08" [2 mm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence arising from near the base of the ramiucal within the basal sheaths and has an infundibular, just shorter than the pedicel floral bract.
"A small caespitose species with purple petiolate leaves that are denticulate on the margins. The tiny purple flower is borne single by a short peduncle and pedicel from near the base of the ramicaul. The dorsal sepal and synsepal are microscopically ciliate towards the acute apices, the petals are obovate and minutely erose towards the acuminate apex and the proportionally large lip is oblong, channeled medially with thick, long-cilaite margins."
