Found in Bolivar and Amazonas states in eastern Venezuela at elevations around 100 to 500 meters as a super mini-miniature sized, hot growing, shortly repent epiphyte with reclining to ascending, stout ramicauls with a tubular sheath and carrying a single, apical, more or less suberect, overlapping, thickly coriaceous, broadly elliptical, obtuse, acuminate, broadly cuneate below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on a congested, arising from a node below the apex of the ramicaul to .36" [9 mm] long including the .08" [2mm] long peduncle, successively single, 3 to 8 flowered inflorescence with shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.

"Characterized by tiny, broadly elliptical leavesborne closely on a creeping rhizome, A successively several flowered raceme eventually reaches near the tips of the leaves. The sepals are ovate and free, the petals are similar and acute and details of the elliptical lip are variable. Carnevali and Ramirez described 3 separate species, P holstii, P pemonum and P deborana. Luer lumped them all in P holstii. Kew still has them separtate. I await verification by seeing living specimens. Luer himeself was leary.
