Found in Pernambuco state of Brazil in submontane deciduous seasonal forest at elevations around 700 meters as a very mini-miniature sized, warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with a cylindrical ramicaul concealed by 2 to 3, white, membraneous, close-fitting, acute to obtuse, striate, entire sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, slightly coriaceous to membraneous, spathulate to oblanceolate, pale green, glabrous, midvein slightly sulcate at the apex, minutely tridenticulate to rounded apically, entire, gradually narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the spring and early summer on a terminal, erect, peduncle .84 to 1.24" [21 to 31 mm] long, filiform, bearing 1 to 2 close-fitting, membranous, acute, entire sheaths, loose, rachis .32 to .92" [8 to 23 mm] long, filiform, successively single, to 4 flowered inflorescence with amplexical, membraneous, acuminate, entire, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts and carrying purplish flowers.
