Found in Zamora Chinchipe province of Ecuador in primary forests at elevations around 1450 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphtye with erect, terete strems enveloped by 3 to 4, papery, tubular sheaths and carryin a horizontal to nodding, ovate-cordate, acute, leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on a fasciculate, on the upper surface of the leaf, racemose, peduncle terete, .8" [2 mm] long, solitary flowered inflorescence enveloped by papery, tubular floral bracts.
" The new species is most similar to Pleurothallis aguirrei but can be distinguished by longer dorsal sepal (37.1 mm long vs. 30.0 mm) that is narrowly ovate (vs. ovate) subacute (vs. acute), the decurved (vs. revolute) apex of the lip with a tubercle present (vs. absent) on the lower surface of the lip, and longer column .104" vs .06" (2.6 mm vs. 1.5 mm long)."
