Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil in riparian forest at elevations around 500 meters as a miniature [without inflorescence] sized, hot to warm growing caespitose epiphyte with an inconspicuous rhizome giving rise to filiform, cylindrical, canaliculate ramicauls provided with scarious deciduous sheaths and carrying a single, green, erect, subcoriaceous, elliptic, a central rib on the back, acute apically, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a terminal, arising through a small spathe, peduncle brown, cylindric, rigid fractiflexed, much longer than the leaf, elongating, to 2" [5 cm] long, flexuous, zig-zag, branching apically, each branch apically successively single, several flowered inflorscence with inconspicuous triangular, acute floral bracts and carrying non resupinate flowers.
