Common Name The Toads Tongue Pleurothallis
Flower Size .8" [2 cm]
Found in Azuay province of Ecuador without collection data as a mini-miniature sized, shortly repent epiphyte with stout, erect ramicauls enveloped by thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, erect, apical, thickly coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms on a subcongested, to 1.2" [3 cm] long, successively few flowered inflorescence with oblique, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
"Similar to P lappago in habit but perhaps with a shorter ramicaul. The flowers however are larger with the sepals and the eptals sharply acute. Most distinctive is the large unguiculate , warty lip." Luer 1998
CAUTION! The Drawing above is absolutely correct, the first photo is correct, the others I am sure are not this species but another unnamed species.
Synonyms Kraenzlinella phrynoglossa (Luer & Hirtz) Luer 2004
