Common Name The Very Small Pleurothallis
Flower Size .15" [3 mm]
Found in Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras at elevations of 150 to 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 2 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, obovate, obtuse to rounded, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late fall winter and spring on a slender, arising laterally from the ramicaul, shorter than the leaves, erect, .32 to .36" [8 to 9 mm] long, loosely, sucessively 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence with shorter than the pedicel floral bract.
"Distinguished from others in the Pleurothallis grobyi-picta alliance by the tiny flower produced successively in a 2 to 3 flowered raceme at the paex of the peduncle shorter than the leaf. The flower is basically very similar to a minute variation of P grobyi but there are no pair of lobules on the column foot s seen in P grobyi." Luer 2006
