Common Name or Meaning The Extended Pleurothallis [refers to the long inflorescence with well spaced flowers]
Flower Size .12" [3 mm]
Found in Pichincha, Tungurahua and Azuay provinces of Ecuador in wet montane forests at elevations around 2000 to 2800 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect ramicauls carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptical, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect, arising from the base of the ramicaul, 10" [25 cm] long, successively few flowered inflorescnece with acute, less than half as long as the pedicel floral bracts.
"Part of the P grobyi/P picta alliance but differs in the markedly elongate, distantly flowered raceme with longer-pedicellate flowers. The flowers are practically inseparable from others in the complex." Luer 2006
