Common Name or Meaning The Little Thing Pleurothallis

Found in Puntarenas province of Costa Rica, Panama province of Panama and Napo and Esmeraldas provinces of Ecuador in forests at elevations around 350 to 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2, thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, ellipticl-obovate, subacute, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and fall on an erect, arising laterally from the ramicaulfiliform, .6 to .8" [15 to 20 mm] long, fascile of successive, single flowered inflorescence with imbricating, much shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
"Part of the P grobyi/P picta complex but distinguished by the fasciculate inflorescencec instead of a loose raceme and by the wings of the column. Also similar to P schaferi but it has a elongate and loosely flowered inflorescence. A minute pair of calli is found on the column foot but smaller than those of the P grobyi/P picta complex."
