Found in Pastaza and Morona-Santiago provinces of Ecuador at elevations of 500 to 900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with suberect, slender ramicauls enveloped below the middle by a tubular sheaths and has 1 to 2 others at the base and carrying a single, apcial, erect, coriaceous, rigid, ovate, acute sessile and deeply cordate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a fascile, arising through a spathe, of short, successively single, few flowered inflorescence witha thin, tubular, as long as the pedicel floral bract.
"Characterized by the horizontal, rigid, cordate leaf witha small, sperical flower borne at the base. The dorsal sepal and sunsepal are suborbicular and concave. he proportionally large lip fills the synsepal and is fitted snugly within the concave apex." Luer 2005
