Common Name The Star-Like Pleurothallis

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in the Distrito Federal of northern Venezuela at elevations around 1370 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 thin tubular shaeths below the middle and another at the base and carrying a single, apical, horizontal, coriaceous, narrowly ovate, acute, cordate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the spring on a short, arising through a reclining spathe at the base of the leaf, successively single, few flowered inflorescence and carrying a non-resupinate flower.

"Distinguished by the deep purple flower color. The habit with a narrowly ovate, horizontal, cordate leaf is common in the section. The sepals andpetals are acute and widely expanded. The lip is more or less triangular with suberect lateral angles." Luer 2005
