Common Name The Tama Pleurothallis [A town in Tachira state of Venezuela]

Found in northwestern Venezuela at elevations around 2400 meters as a small sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 1 to 2, loose, tubular, basal sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coricaceous, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, apically minutely tridentate, cardate below into the base leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on a short, arising through a spathe with the flower lying against the center of the leaf [prostrate], single, successive flowered inflorescence with a tubular, shorter than the pedicel floral bract.
This species is related to P cubitoria restricted to southern Ecuador and P microcardia which is found in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. This one is distinguished by the floral parts being twice longer than in the other 2 species.
