Common Name or Meaning Tonduz's Pleurothallis [Central American Orchid Collector]

Found in Alajuela province of Costa Rica, Chiriqui province of Panama and Peru? in cloud forests at elevations of 700 to 2000 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose epiphyte or terrestrial with thick ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, lanceolate, subfalcate, cordate, attenuate to the 3 dentate apex leaf that blooms at any time of the year on a short, arising through and and mostly concealed within the triangular spathe, a fascile of successively single, few flowered inflorescence with thin, tubular, shorter than the pedicel floral bract.
"Characterized by the long, narrow, erect leaves and a flower with a prominent, dark purple, verrucose lip held erect in the center. The sides of the lip are revolute to create the pandurate shape and the apex is similarily acutely revolute." Luer 2005
