Common Name The Rough Sepal Pleurothallis

Found in Colombia, Zamora-Chinchipe and Morona-Santiago provinces of Ecuador and Cusco department of Peru as a small sized, warm to cold growing, caespitose terrestrial and epiphyte with erect, slender, terete ramicauls with a close fitting sheath below the middle and 1 to 2 others at the base carrying a single, apical, suberect to spreading broadly ovate, acuminate, acute, tridenticulate, deeply cordate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the summer on a short, arising through a fugaceous spathe, in fascile, each .2" [5 mm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with as longas the pedicel floral bracts.
"Similar to P cordata but differs in the broadly ovate leaf, but not as broad and rounded as P cordata. The flowers are golden yellow suffused with brown, but this color combination also occurs in P cordata. The sepals are minutely pubescent externally with a short ciliated margin visible from the front. Instead of being held down to either side of the lip, the erose margined petals spread widfely. The margins of the oval lip are usually conspicuously erose." Luer 1976
