Found in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia in wet montane forests as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial or occasional pubescent epiphyte with 2 to 3, basal, pubescent, elliptic, acute, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate, petiollate base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, terete, pulverulent, to 10" [to 25 cm] long, successively many flowered inflorescence carrying non-resupinate flowers
