THROUGH 
Common Name The Reflexed Scaphyglottis
Flower Size 1/8" [.6 cm]
Found in Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia and Brazil in tropical wet forests at elevations of 220 to 1900 meters as a medium sized, erect then pendant growing, hot to cool growing epiphyte with a single, pointed, terete, elongate leaf and stem carrying a short single flowered inflorescence with the flower held close to the juncture of stem and leaf arising in the fall through spring.
CAUTION This species and Scaphyglottis emarginata have been mixed up since 1877 when Reichenbach described his Hexisea reflexa in error. Garay caught this error in 1967 creating the new epiteth Reichenbachianthus emarginatus. S emarginata only occurs in the Carribrean and in Surinam but has been in literature as occuring in Brazil, Venezuela and Colombia. All these listings really describe this species as Scaphyglottis reflexa Lindl.
