Found in Bahia and Minas Gerais states of Brazil as a medium sized, warm growing terrestrial that is leafless [Unknown form] at blooming on an erect, terminal, peduncle [37 to 38 cm] long, provided with adnate to the stem, herbaceous with hyaline margins, acute, glabrous, to sparsely glandular, shorter than the internodes sheathing bracts, rachis 4 to 4.8" [10 to 12 cm] long, lax to relatively dense, 8 to 9 flowered inflorescence with oblong-lanceolate, acute, herbaceous, glandular externally and on the margins, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying relatively large flowers with the basal half adnate to the axis and the apical part arcuate.
Sarcoglottis curvisepala is habitually similar to Sarcoglottis fasciculata and Sarcoglottis grandiflora but it is easy to distinguish by its lateral sepals and lip. Lateral sepals are very long and strongly falcate, their free parts are as long as their basal parts adnate to the ovary. The lip is indistinctly constricted and cochleate in the center. A very characteristic feature is the branched venation on the lip and lateral sepals." Szlach. & Rutk. 1997
