Deep shade Cool Summer Fall

Common Name The Narrow Leafed Scaphyglottis

Flower Size .32" [8 mm]

Found in Antioquia and Cundinamarca departments of Colombia at elevations of 1350 to 1380 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with fusiform pseudobulbs carrying a single, linear, grass-like acute leaf that blooms in the late summer and fall on a fasciculate, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.

Somewhat similar to S violacea but S filifolius differs in the single leaved pseudobulb vs bifoliate in S violacea, ovate, acuminate sepals, the shortly clawed lip with a prominent, transverse ridge just above the claw and is otherwise ecallose." Szlach. & Kolan. 2013
