Common Name Williams' Stelis [American Botanist in Panama 1900's]

Found in Honduras and Panama at elevations of 600 to 2000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, oblanceolate-ligulate, gradually narrowing below into the attenuate, shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a to 9.2" [23 cm] long, much longer than the leaf, many flowered inflorescence with infundibuliform, free part triangular-lanceolate to broadly ovate, acute to acuminate floral bracts.
