Common Name Robinson's Tropidia [American original collector of the type earlier 1900's]

Found in the Philippines on Luzon at elevations of 400 to 600 meters as a small to just medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with an erect, simple or commonly branching above, with the branches 4 to 6.4" [10 to 16 cm] or more long, terete, leafy stems carrying linear, grass-like, narrowed toward the ends, sessile on the tubular sheathing bases which conceal the stem leaves that blooms in the late summer and early spring on an erect, terminal, from the axils of the upper¬ most leaves, with the abbreviated peduncle .4 to .6" [1 to 1.5 cm] long, densely few-flowered inflorescwence with rigid, persistent, triangular, concave, nervose, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
Differs from T gracilis but T robinsoni has broad triangular floral bracts and large flwoers
