Found in Vichada department of Colombia and Venezuela amongst grass in open llanos at elevations around 150 meters as a small sized, hot growing terrestrial without leaves at flowering occuring in the spring on an erect, terminal, delicate, peduncle 5.2 to 7.2" [13 to 18 cm] long, glabrous, provided with 5 to 6, herbaceous, cauline sheaths, 3 to 3.2" [7.5 to 8 cm] long, 3 to 9 flowered inflorescence.
Resembles Veyretia aphylla but differs in the lanceolate-ovate, apiculkate epichile with a v-shaped callus at the base." Szlachetko & Kolanowska 2019
