Found in Sabah Borneo in forests at elevations around 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short creeping rhizome with somewhat persistent bracts giving rise to small, .08 to .12" [.2 to .3 cm] between each, ellipsoid to ovoid, not angular pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect to patent, elliptic to obovate, rounded, petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect then nodding, peduncle to 2.8 to 3.8" [7 to 9.5 cm] long, erect, provided with 5 bracts, rachis nodding 1.36 to 1.8" [3.4 to 4.5 mm] long, cylindrical, densely, 45 to 60 flowered inflorescence with longer than the ovary floral bracts.
"B bicarinarum shares the obtuse petals with B fragosum but differs in the glabrous petals, a less distinctly curved lip with a distally concave, abaxial side, it differs from both B fragosum and B coniferum by having a transverse ridge on the adaxial side of the lip close to the base , which is notched half way."
