Common Name The Mt Dempo Bulbophyllum [a mountain in southern Sumatra]
Flower Size .28" [7 mm] long
Found in southern Sumatra at elevations around 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a thin, pendulous, often branching rhizome with 1.6 to 2.4" [4 to 6 cm] between each, oblong,more or less curved, obtuse pseudobulb carrying a single apical, erect, ovate-lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing and channeled into the petiolate base leaf that blooms from the nodes of the rhizome, peduncle thin, to .4 to .52" [1 to 1.3 cm], covered by loose tubular sheaths, rachis to .12" [3 mm], more or less umbellate, 3 to 5 flowered inflorescence.
Close to B capitatum especially in the column but this one differs in the smaller flowers, the weaker inflorescence, the different pseduobulbs, the obovate, spathulate petals and the lip is of a different shape.
