Found in Sulawesi in primary forsts at elevations around 1000 meters as a small sized, patent to pendulous, warm growing epiphyte with a much branching rhizome with 1/2 to 2.24" [1.2 to 5.6 cm] between each conspicuous, ovoid, slightly to distinctly 4 angled pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, ovate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on an arching to nodding, somewhat thickened, finely papillose-hirsute, rather dense, 1.3" to 2.6" [3.3 to 6.5 cm] long, 10 to 15 flowered inflorescence with acute to acuminate floral bracts.

This species, B anakbaruppui and B sternuroides are all very similar and need more fieldwork to ensure their differences.
