Found in Venezuela, French Guiana, Surinam?, Matto Grosso, Goias, Parana', Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo states of Brazil in open grasslands and shrublands at elevations of 50 to 600 meters as a small to medium sized, hot growing terrestrial with distichous, linear, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the later spring on an erect, terminal, laxly 1 to 6 flowered, inflorescence
