Common Name The Club-Carrying Habenaria

Flower Size 1/2 to .88" [1.8 to 2.2 cm] long

Found in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Colombia and Venezuela at elevations of 2200 to 3000 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with a subterranean tuber giving rise to a leafy stem enveloped completely by imbicate, leaf bearing sheaths and carrying 4 to 6, green, acuminate, distichous, basally ovate-elliptic becoming lanceolate above, ascending to extended and recurved above, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, racemose, 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence and carrying brilliant white flowers.
