Common Name Nora's Masdevallia [Refers to Elinor Dunsterville mid to late 1900's]

Found in Colombia, Venezuela and possibly in northwestern Brazil in lowland to lower montane forests as a miniature sized, caespitose, hot to warm epiphyte in lowland forests at elevations of 200 to 1000 meters with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 close, tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute leaf that is narrowly cuneate below into the petiole that blooms in the winter on a congested, erect, successively several flowered, 5" [12.5 cm] long, long lasting raceme arising from low on the ramicaul with a basal bract and imbricating, tubular floral bracts holding single flower at a time at leaf height.
