Found in Chiriqui Panama at elevations around 1900 to 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with stout, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, obovate, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late fall and early winter on a slender, erect, purple spotted, 3.6" [9 cm] long, successively single, 2+ flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a tubular floral bract.
