Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm]
Found in Azuay province of Ecuador at elevations around 2500 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramcauls enveloped by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a slender, erect, 3.2 to 3.6" [ 8 to 9 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract at the base and a tubular floral bract.
Similar to M corderoana but differs vegetatively in the ramicaul arising from near the middle of the ramicaul and in a longer petiolate base and a shorter blade to the leaf. Florally the differences are mostly in the lip and column structure.
