Common Name Wubben's Masdevallia [Dutch Orchid Enthusiast current]
Flower Size 1 1/5" [3 cm]
Found in northern Venezuela in forests at elevations of 2200 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheats carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse leaf that gradually narrow into the petiole and blooms in the spring on a slender, erect, 2 2/5" to 4" long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a basal bract and a floral bract carrying the flower above the leaf.
This species is a natuarally occuring hybrid between M. triangularis and M. wageneriana.
