Common Name Dalesandro's Pleurothallis [American Discoverer of species current]

Found in Loja province of southern Ecuador at elevations around 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with an erect ramicaul enveloped by 3, loose, imbricating, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter and again in early summer on a subcongested, arising from a node at the apex of the ramicaul, suberect, to .4" [1 cm] long including the .12" [3 mm] long peduncle, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with as long as to just shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
Easily distinguished from P rabei by the larger habit and much larger flowers with multiveined sepals. The lateral lobes off the lip below the middle are narrow, erect, cilate and .04" [1 mm] long." Luer 2006
