Common Name The Who Knows Pleurothallis

Flower Size .2" [5 mm]

Found in Choco' department of Colombia at unknown elevations and locations as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing, repent epiphyte with a branching rhizome giving rise every .4 to 4/5" [1 to 2.2 cm] a stout ramicaul enveloped by 2 oblique, compressed, imbricating sheaths and carrying a single pendant, coriaceous, elliptical, acute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a short, arising from an oblique spathe, single flowered inflorescence with a shorter than the pedicel floral bract.

Similar in habit to P calypso amd P portilloi with the long, pendent chains of overlapping, elliptical leaves with large, loose, compressed sheaths of the ramicauls and rhizome. The tubular flowers protrudes from the margin of the spathe, compressed and inflated as are the eheaths. The sepals are deeply connate into a broad, cylindrical tube. Out of sight are the acute petals and an ovate lip with small, erect, uncinate marginal lobes." Luer 2007
