Found in Cuba, Dominican Republic and Jamaica in wet montane forests at elevations of 900 to 2000 meters, as small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls carrying a single, apical,erect, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter, spring and summer on a subdense, secund, 4 to 10.4" [10 to 26 cm] long including the 2 to 4.8" [5 to 12 cm] longf peduncle simultaneously several to many flowered inflorescence arising laterally from near the apex of the ramicaul through a conspicuous, foliaceous spathe and has an inflated floral bract.
