Found in Putumayo Colombia at elevations around 2350 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by a close tubular sheath in the lower quarter and 2 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, spreading, coriaceous, narrowly ovate, acute, sessile and cordate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a fascile of successive single flowers arising through a narrow spathe.

A large flower on a smaller narrowly ovate acute, cordate leaf with broad multi veined dorsal sepals, three veined, shortly acuminate petals and an oblong-ovate, obtuse lip with a glenion at the base.
